The Church of Saint Mathias

It is one of the best preserved church in the Philippines built by the Spanish during the Spanish regime in the Philippines. The Baroque- style Architecture designed church its not for its original bricks. It is considered the best in Isabela with its most artistic brick structure and is also considered  a  UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list under the Baroque Churches of the Philippines. The church is made of red bricks and made with neo-Corinthian faux columns. Another feature of the church is its bell tower and the bell its self

Fun fact; the bell tower used to be taller than what it is today. The lower part of the tower is believed to be covered with the debris during the world war bombing and fortunately the church sustained minimal damage

As of the present time, some parts of the church and its extending buildings has been replaced by imitation red bricks or gravel bricks and cement due to natural aging that causes brittleness to the bricks. The historic church is located in Brgy Annafunan, Tumauini, Isabela and still standing strong.
